How to export your Wise transactions to CSV
Wise lets you create a statement in CSV from a currency balance, a jar, or the home screen. Here are the steps from Wise's own help page, and what to watch for before you use the file.
Steps
From a currency or jar
- Open the currency or jar you want.
- Tap the three dots in the top-right corner.
- Select Statements and reports.
- Choose the document type you need, then enter your Wise password to confirm.
From the home screen
- Tap your initials in the top corner.
- Select Statements and reports, then Statements.
- Select Create a statement.
- Choose the currencies or jars, the time period, CSV as the file format, and the language.
- Enter your Wise password to confirm the download.
Statements you create this way appear in the Custom tab. On the web you can select several balances and jars and download them together.
Good to know
- On the web Wise offers PDF, XLSX, CSV, MT940, QIF and CAMT.053 (version 10 only). In the app it offers PDF, CSV and XLSX.
- One statement covers up to 365 days. For a longer period, download several statements.
- Statements cover transactions made through Wise currency accounts. Wise says that for a list that also includes external payment methods you should download a transfer list from the Transactions page.
- Wise's page does not say which columns the CSV contains. UNKNOWN to us.
Have we tested a Wise file?
No. We have not tested a Wise export. The public sample file we found for Wise could not be used because its repository declares no licence. The categorizer reads dates, amounts, currency and the separator automatically, and if it does not recognise the layout it lets you pick the date and amount columns yourself. If you have several currencies, each currency is totalled separately (no conversion).

Then categorize it free, offline
Open the categorizer, drop the CSV on the page, and it sorts every line into categories with monthly totals. The file is read inside your browser tab and is not uploaded.
Free: one file at a time, latest 3 months of it. Categories are automatic guesses; check them before using the numbers for tax. CSV only, no PDF.
