ADIB bank statement PDF to Excel or CSV, offline
ADIB (Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank) gives you statements as PDF. A PDF is hard to sort or total. This guide shows how to turn an ADIB e-statement PDF into a table you can filter and save as CSV or Excel, without uploading the file anywhere.
Step 1: Get your ADIB e-statement PDF
Download your e-statement PDF from ADIB online banking or the ADIB mobile app. ADIB's mobile banking page lists "Account transaction statements" under managing your accounts and links video tutorials on viewing, downloading and sharing statements (see Source below). The exact menu path and the available date ranges are UNKNOWN to us: we could not find them written on an ADIB page, so we do not give steps we cannot source. Follow ADIB's own tutorial or ask ADIB.
The statement has to be a text PDF, the kind the bank generates. A photo or scan of a printed statement has no text to read and will be refused. If your PDF is password-protected, the tool cannot open it and shows a "could not read" message; the statement we tested had no password.
Step 2: Open the categorizer and drop the PDF in
Open the categorizer and drop the PDF onto the page. The file is read inside your browser tab. It is not uploaded, and nothing from your statement is sent anywhere.
Step 3: Read the balance check
An ADIB statement prints a running balance on every line. After reading the PDF, the tool checks each row against the balance on the neighbouring row and tells you, for example, "N of M rows checked against your bank balance". Rows that do not match are listed so you can compare them with your PDF. If more than 2% of the checked rows fail, the tool warns you not to rely on the import. The oldest row has no earlier balance, so it cannot be checked.
What this check can and cannot show: if the debit, credit and balance of a row agree with the row before it, the amount was very probably read correctly. It does not check the description text, and it does not check dates.
Step 4: Sort, then save as CSV or Excel
Each transaction gets a category, which you can change; your changes are remembered as rules in your browser. You can then export a categorized CSV and a monthly summary CSV. Excel (.xlsx) export is part of Pro.
What we tested, and what we did not
- We tested one real ADIB e-statement. The tool read 545 of 546 rows, and 543 of 544 balance checks matched. One row could not be read and one did not match; the app flags a mismatch for you to review. That is one statement, from one account, on one device. Another ADIB statement can differ.
- PDF import works for ADIB statements only. Other UAE banks use other PDF layouts, we have no samples, and the tool refuses their PDFs. For those banks, use a CSV if your bank offers one. Many UAE banks do not appear to; we could not confirm CSV export for any UAE retail bank.
- Category guesses on ADIB descriptions are not measured. Expect some lines to stay in "Other" until you add a rule. Arabic merchant names mostly stay in "Other" too.
- Free: one file at a time, and for a PDF the latest 3 months. Pro (one payment of $19, no subscription) shows every month and adds Excel export. See pricing.
- This is not financial, tax or legal advice. Check the numbers against your statement before you rely on them.

ADIB, "Mobile Banking": adib.ae/en/personal/services/mobile-banking. We read that page on 2026-10-20: it lists "Account transaction statements" and two video tutorials ("Account Statements via ADIB Mobile App | View, Download & Share" and "How to view & download my Accounts and Covered Card statements?"). It does not state the steps or the file format in text. The test figures are from our own check on one statement and are not published by ADIB.
Then try it on your own statement, free
Drop your ADIB PDF on the page and see every row checked against your balance. Nothing is uploaded.
Free: one file at a time, latest 3 months of it. CSV for most banks; PDF only for ADIB statements.
